In Branford on March 2, 2012, Albert A. Sartini, husband of the late Theresa DePonte Sartini of Branford, passed peacefully at Connecticut Hospice.
He was born on April 23, 1930 in New Haven, a son of the late Brenno and Emilia Portivia Sartini. Mr. Sartini was a Korean War veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a retired New Haven Police Officer, and also a retired Parts Manager of Peterbilt of Southern CT.
He is survived by his daughters, Alberta Sartini and Donna Sartini McGuire of Branford; grandsons, Brandon Crosby of Branford, Keith Crosby and John Gray (Jennifer Gray) of East Haven; great-grandchildren, Michael Crosby, Dylan McGuire and Emilia Gray; and his brothers, Dante Sartini of Branford, and Raymond Sartini of Fresno, CA. He was predeceased by a daughter Tracy Sartini Gray; a grandson, Justin McGuire; sister, Jeanette Nieman and brothers, Paul and Nelson Sartini.
He will be greatly missed by extended family and friends. Anyone who has ever had the honor to meet Al knows what a truly special man he was. We're going to miss you Daddy, Grandpa.
His funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford Tuesday morning at 10:00 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:30. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5 – 8 PM.
