Obituary

Anthony A. Giannotti Sr. of Branford passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 7, 2017 at CT Hospice in Branford. Tony was the beloved husband of 66 years to the late Mary DeLucia Giannotti. He was the father of Charlotte Giannotti Ehrler (Tom), John Giannotti, and Anthony Giannotti Jr. (Anne), and loving grandfather to Cara Pascarella (Todd), Thomas Ehrler (Amanda), Victoria and Marissa Giannotti. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Jaclyn, and his sisters Irene Montagna and Victoria Bryant.

Tony was born in New Haven on November 17, 1924, son of the late John and Carmela Giannotti. He was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served as a Tail Gunner in the South Pacific during World War II, and was a Purple Heart recipient as well as receiving many other citations.

Tony took great pride in everything he did, he was a very hard working man, always had a smile on his face and loved his family more than anything.

He was the head custodian for East Haven Public Schools for many years, he also was an avid fan of the New York Giants and Yankees, and loved going to the casino.

The Giannotti family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Keepsake Village at The Hearth at Gardenside and CT Hospice.
