In New Haven June 18, 2012, Anthony Yasevac, beloved husband of 64 years to Elaine Bedard Yasevac of Branford.
Anthony was born in New Haven April 17, 1925 a son of the late Robert and Mary Vuksinic Zvonkovic Yasevac and was a lifelong resident of Branford. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps in World War II as a radio operator. His family opened the Meadow Restaurant (Eel Pot) in 1947 and Anthony became the owner of it in 1978, and still operated it and loved to cook. He was especially devoted to his longtime, loyal clientele. Anthony was an avid sportsman, playing baseball, softball and basketball, and was an avid golfer. He was past club champion at the Wallingford Country Club. He was elected to the Branford Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. He was an honorary member of the Governors Foot Guard and was a 60 year member of American Legion Post 83 in Branford.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Linda (George) Wilson of Guilford, Anthony (Teresa) Yasevac of Branford and Michael Yasevac of Branford; his cherished grandchildren, Corrine and Geoffrey Yasevac; his brother Frank (Joan) Yasevac of Branford, and his brothers-in-law Robert Bedard of CO, and William Bedard of FL.
Anthony was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Yasevac and Michael Zvonkovic and his sisters, Anna Belmonte and Mary White.
Friends may call Thursday evening from 4 – 7 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and may attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church Friday morning at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
