Barbara Aurora Miller, beloved wife of Daniel C. Miller of Branford, died on Sunday January 27, 2013 in Yale-New Haven Hospital after a short but courageous battle with bile duct cancer.
She was born June 6, 1945 in New Haven, daughter of the late Peter and Mary DeCilla Aurora. She married Dan, her high school sweetheart, and they had three children, twin sons, Daniel (Melissa) Miller, Jr., of New Haven, David Miller of East Haven, and a daughter, Kristin (Dinko) Angelov of Stamford. She is also survived by her much-adored grandchildren, Sierra, Holden and Nora Miller, and Ava and Luke Angelov; and her brother John P. (Barbara) Aurora of Hamden as well as three nephews and their families.
Barbara dedicated her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an amazing cook, baker, gardener and homemaker. She also helped her husband run his plumbing business for the past 35 years. They made their home in New Haven until 1985, when they relocated to Branford. She will be remembered most for her kindness, compassion, generosity and her loving nature.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital for their caring and compassionate support and care shown to Barbara and her family during her illness.
Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford Thursday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent DePaul Church, East Haven, at 10:00. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 – 8 PM.
