Betty Ferguson Aceto, 81, of Branford, died Monday April 22, 2013 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the widow of Lindbergh "Lindy" Aceto.
Betty was born in Northford September 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Earle and Nellie Boyce Ferguson. She was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Northford. Betty loved to play the guitar and sing country songs. As a teenager, she and her cousins sang on the Bud Finch Talent Show on WELI on Saturday morning in the 1950's and won numerous contests. Betty also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and working in her garden.
She is survived by her children, Nelson (Cindy) Aceto of San Francisco, CA, and Lynn Aceto of Northford; her grandsons, Joseph Aceto of CA and James Harrison of Northford; her sister, Audrey (Joe) Langella of Hamden; and special nephews, nieces and cousins, including Bonnie Cecarelli, Jory and Nelson Cecarelli and their son Nelson Thomas Cecarelli, Jr.; Jenna Cecarelli and her son Dustin whom she loved dearly; and her cat Tammy. She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Cecarelli.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday morning from 9-10 am at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and are invited to a funeral service Thursday morning at 11:00 in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Northford. Burial will follow in Northford Cemetery.
