Cal leaves behind a very, large extended Family here in the States and most in Ireland/Canada, with many Nieces/Nephews and dear friends. Cal dedicated his life to his family and his Community. From Coaching his Children’s sports teams through the Years, rooting on every game for his children and grand-children. He worked for 38 Years for Chesebrough-Ponds/Unilever in the IT Department, where he retired in 1998. Since 1987, he volunteered at the Branford Fire Department where he was a Firefighter/EMT, Served as Captain on Rescue 1 and Lieutenant on Truck 1 . He was a Member of the Indian Neck Yacht Club since 1979 and an avid Sailor since his youth at age 6, when his Dad bought him his first boat. His true passion was always being on the water and he instilled that into his Family as well. He would pack up the family every weekend in the Summer and sail all over from Long Island Sound to Block Island. He also served as the Branford Harbor Master from 2004-2011. Cal also drove Livery in his spare time for Hy’s , Clancy’s Funeral Home in Branford, and the Senior Center in Branford. Cal loved to sing, especially his favorite, Irish Music - there was never a get together without him singing. Cal was a past member of the Sailing Masters and Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corp, he loved getting dressed up in the uniform, marching, playing music and in the later years, being a part of the Color-Guard. Cal and Teresa loved to travel together and took many trips every year around the world, his most favorite destination was Ireland, especially County Clare, where his lovely wife originates from.
