Donald Hubbard Stoddard, beloved husband of 52 years to Carrie Bradley Stoddard of 11 Indian Neck Ave., Branford, died Sunday September 21 in CT Hospice.
He was born November 5, 1925 in New Haven, a son of the late James Levi and Lillian Hubbard Stoddard. During WW II, he proudly served in the U. S. Merchant Marines onboard the sea-going tug, "Moose Peak." He was a household mover for Allied Van Lines until his retirement. He was a friend of Bill W. for more thank 20 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother Henry L. (Marjorie) Stoddard of Branford, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, William, Robert and James Stoddard, and a sister Doris Stoddard Janicki.
The Stoddard family would like to thank the VNA, Hospice and the many people who tendered loving care to Donald during his illness.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday evening from 5 – 7 pm at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford, and are invited to a memorial service Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Church of Christ Congregational, Stony Creek. Burial will be private.
