Edith Wynne Zito, 102, of Branford passed away on Monday November 15th at her home. She was the wife of the late John Zito.
She was born in Preston, England August 18, 1908, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Farnsworth Wynne. She immigrated to the US in 1910 and resided in East Haven for 52 years before moving to Hotchkiss Grove, Branford in 1962. She had lived in Cedar Woods retirement home for the past three years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Blume and husband Robert of West Hartford, and Barbara Bliven of East Haven; two sons, John Zito of Clinton and David Zito of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Donald Blume, John Blume, Diane Blume Ross, and Gary Bliven; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Edith enjoyed many happy hours in her garden and at the Hotchkiss Grove beach where she loved to swim, collect sea glass and visit with her friends. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service Thursday morning at 10:00 in Trinity Episcopal Church, on the green, Branford. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Branford. There are no calling hours.
