Edward D. DeNegre of East Haven, formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday April 3, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of the late Clara Muller DeNegre.
Mr. DeNegre was born in New Haven November 3, 1926, son of the late John and Amelia Mascola DeNegre. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was the owner of DeNegre’s Used Cars in New Haven for many years, where he was an auto mechanic and salesman.
Edward is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth “Betsy” Graham Sackett (Brian) of Durham and Amelia “Amy” Kirst (Richard) of Madison; his grandchildren, Christine, Jason, Kate, Abigail, Hilary and Crew; and his great-grandchildren, Ireland, Miles and Aiden. He is also survived by his niece Ann Mary DeNegre. He was predeceased by his sister, Marie Wall and his brothers, Mark and John DeNegre.
His family would like to thank the caregivers at The Village at Mariners Point and the staff at VNA Hospice, for the compassionate care given to Ed during his final illness.
Relatives and friends may call Friday evening from 4:00 - 7:00 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and are invited to a funeral service Saturday morning at 11:00 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
