Eric Francis Weller, originally from Branford, CT was born on March 17, 1959 and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Edmonds, WA on August 15, 2015.
Eric was a graduate of The Hotchkiss School where he was a record breaking swimmer and talented artist. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) at the University and following graduation he entered the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana rising to the rank of Captain.
Eric had a passion and enthusiasm for living life to the fullest. Life to him was an incredible journey to explore the world. He had a deep respect for nature and cherished being in the outdoors. He loved to spend time and work on his cattle ranch in Gold Creek, Montana. He had a great sense of humor and treasured the love he shared with his family, friends, cattle and Corgis. He was a respected and dedicated professional working in the roofing and construction industry for over twenty years where his efforts made a lasting impact.
Always the "Warhorse", he showed tremendous strength, determination and courage especially during the last year of his life.
Eric is survived by his wife Paula Weller of Edmunds, WA, his parents, Jessica Weller of Branford, CT and Carl Weller of Madison, CT, his brother Karl Weller and his wife Donna of Stowe, VT and his sister, Karla Flaherty and her husband Todd of Narragansett, RI. He also leaves many nieces and nephews who truly loved and adored him.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 6th from 10 to 11am followed by a Celebration of Life service at W.S. Clancy Funeral Home, 224 North Main Street in Branford. Family and friends are all invited to a reception immediately following the service.
