Gilda Storelli of Branford, died Friday January 5, 2018, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alfred Storelli.
Gilda was born November 29, 1921 in New Haven, daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette Paparella. She served in the U. S. Navy “Waves” during World War II. She graduated from the University of Tulsa, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education, received her Master’s Degree from NYU and her 6th year Degree in Administration from NYU. She taught for 27 years in Long Island City High School as chairman of the Business Education department, and serving as assistant principal. She was the president of Delta Pi Epsilon while at NYU, and served as the President of the Business Education Association of Metropolitan New York. She also was the President of the Legion of Mary at St. Therese Church in Spring Hill, FL.
Gilda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Giulio Fraenza of Branford; her grandchildren, Mark (Danielle) Fraenza, Matthew (Stephanie) Fraenza and Juliana Fraenza Stabach (Kenneth); her great-grandchildren, Maya Rose, Devin Luke, Delaney Paige and Mattea Fraenza; her sister Karen Jordan of West Haven and her brother Michael Paparella of Los Angeles, CA. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Paparella and Elizabeth Forte.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday morning at 11:00 in St. Mary Church, Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. THERE ARE NO CALLING HOURS.
