Obituary

Harold G. Anderson, Sr., of New Haven, died Friday July 18, 2014, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" Haas Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was born in North Haven January 20, 1921, son of the late Harold J. and Violet Simon Anderson. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard. He worked for Southern Connecticut Gas Co. for 48 years, retiring in 1987. He was active for many years with the Dom Aitro Little League in New Haven. He was a communicant of St. Francis Church in New Haven, where he served a as Deacon, and was an active member on many committee's including the CYO Minstrel Shows and 20 Week Club. He was also a member of the Industrial Management Club of New Haven.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his children, Harold G. (Mary) Anderson, Jr., of Lockport, NY, Francis (Gloria) Anderson of Derby and Mary Anderson of New Haven; his brothers, John Anderson of New Haven and Robert Anderson of North Branford; his sisters, Marguerite Cody of Bethany, Violet Kenniston of East Haven and Geraldine Vasilaitis of Winchester, CT; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday morning at 10:00 in St. Francis Church, New Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. THERE ARE NO CALLING HOURS. The W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home 244 North Main St., Branford is in charge of arrangements.
