In Branford August 9, 2009, Helen Aniskovich, formerly of 10 Hammer Place, Branford. Helen was born in Babnuvka in the Ukraine on July 12, 1914. She was a daughter of the late Thomas and Adele Postenski. Her mother died when she was 3 and she came to America when she was 13 years old. She was married to Paul Aniskovich Sr. who worked at the M.I.F. in Branford. She raised 3 sons who are all military veterans: Paul Aniskovich Jr. (Carol) of Cincinnati, Ohio; William Aniskovich (Theresa) of Branford; and Richard K. Aniskovich (Susan) of Bay St. Louis, MI. She is survived by 7 grandchildren: Michael, Nancy, Gary, Peter, William A., Christopher, and Kevin Aniskovich. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Steven Postenski and her sister Lena Mierzjewski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 at St. Mary Church in Branford. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St. Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd.
