In Guilford, after a long illness, November 1, 2004, Herman “Pinky” Anderson, 89, husband of Marie Rook Anderson of Branford, formerly of West Haven.
Father of Karen Anderson of Guilford. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by brothers, Harvey, Valdemar, Erving and a sister Mabel.
He was born in New Haven July 22, 1915, son of the late Charles and Selma Anderson. He was the owner of Anderson Paint and Wallpaper in East Haven for 35 years. A WWII veteran, he will be remembered for his Bora Bora stories as well as other whimsical, oft-repeated life stories. His family would like to thank the staff of Fowler Nursing Home for their kindness.
Friends may call Friday afternoon from 2 - 4 PM, with a service at 4 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford. Burial private.
