Obituary

Laurel "Lori" Adams, age 56 of Branford passed away peacefully on Friday September 5, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Carol O'Brien Griffin. Lori graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Respiratory Therapy and worked many years as a special education paraprofessional at Mary T. Murphy School in Branford where her children attended and where she spent many hours volunteering with the PTA.

Lori will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Lori loved hosting family gatherings at her beautifully decorated home and will also be remembered for her delicious cookie trays, creative crafts and sewing, and her beautiful flower and bountiful vegetable gardens. Lori loved the beach, especially her summer family vacations to Misquamicut.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 34 years, Mark Adams, with whom she shared many wonderful vacations; her loving children, Justin Adams and partner Jennie Barry, Kaylan Sparks and husband Jared, brother James Griffin and wife Eileen Gorman, sisters Lisa Griffin and husband Ernie Cruz, Elizabeth Christiansen and husband David, and Mary Jean Ramsay. She also leaves her mother in law Eleanor Adams, nieces and nephews Michael D'Onofrio Jr., Emma, Maeve, and Laura Griffin, and Stephen and Daniel Cruz; her aunts Jean O'Brien, Ann McCullock and Kathryn Griffin, and many loving cousins and friends, as well as her Murphy School family, especially her longtime friend Donna Bozzuto. She will be especially missed by her cat Mickey. She was predeceased by her brother in law David T. Ramsay.

Her family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the 12th floor staff at Smilow Cancer Center and the entire staff at CT Hospice.

Friends may call Monday from 4-8 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Laurel's memory to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.
