Luanne Sanna, of East Haven, formerly of Branford, died Sunday April 23, 2017 at her home.
Luanne was born in New Haven November 7, 1961, daughter of the late Albert L. and Patricia Quinn Sanna. Luanne was a 1979 graduate of Branford High School. She had worked as a medical assistant and a nurses aide for Branford Internal Medicine before retiring.
Luanne, also affectionately known as little Lu, was known for her small size as well as her enormous heart. Friends and family will always remember her for her cheerful smile and quick wit. She was known for her wonderful humor and anyone who knew her couldn't help, but bust out into laughter when she came around. She was forever selfless and always said "when I go don't cry for me my body will be here, but my spirit will be with the Lord". Luanne loved church, sketching, family dinners, classic rock, and collecting anything owl. She loved animals (especially her cat Mimi). She was a beautiful bright little star may she continue to shine on in the heavens.
Luanne is survived by her daughter Nicole Poudrier (Daniel Herrera, Sr.) of East Haven; her brother, Albert P. (Lori) Sanna of Branford and her step-grandchildren, Daniel, Jr., Justin, Kianni, and Janiya.
A Celebration of Luanne's life will be held later in May.
