In Branford October 15, 2011, Maria Biondello St. John of Guilford, formerly of 99 Ivy St., Branford. She was the beloved wife for 62 years to the late Joseph St. John, who died in October 2003.
Mrs. St. John was born March 15, 1921 in Branford, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Antoinette Sciarretta Biondello, and was a resident of Branford for most of her life until moving to Guilford.
She was the devoted mother to Annette (John) Barbetti of Guilford, Joann (Buddy) Kligerman of Guilford, and Stephen (Denise Watrous) St. John of Branford; sister to Louise Birbarie of Madison, Anna Giordano of Branford and Frank Biondello of Branford. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Donna (Kligerman) Hahn, Michael Kligerman, John Barbetti Jr., Mary (Barbetti) Orsi, Joseph Ahearn, Jessica St. John and Christopher St. John; 10 great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Samuel St. John, her sisters, Fannie Biondello and Lena Travisano, and her brother Ralph Biondello.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service Thursday morning at 10:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and may call prior to the service from 9 – 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
