Mother of Sharon (Edmund) Anelundi of East Providence, RI, Kathleen Ahern, Suzanne (Michael) Klarman, and Branford Fire Chief Jack (Lisa) Ahern, all of Branford. Grandmother of John, Stephen, and James Lamberti, Sharon, Kevin, Steve, and Kelly Klarman, and Leah, Caitlin, John, Michele, and Charlie Ahern. Also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Joan Ahern of Branford. Pre-deceased by a granddaughter Emily Ahern and a sister Catherine Shadwell.
She was born in New Haven October 7, 1025, daughter of the late Raymond and Catherine Cody Spillane. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford, a member of American Legion Unit 83 Women’s Auxiliary and a past member of the St. Mary Ladies Guild.
Her family would like to thank her doctor, Ronald Salem and her nurse, Donna Danbury, and all of the Dr’s and nurses and staff at 6 & 7 at YNHH, and the staff at CT Hospice, for all of the care and compassion shown to Marie during her illness.
Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford Monday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 – 8 PM.
