MaryAnn (Santore) Ezold of Branford died unexpectedly surrounded by her family on Friday May 5, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert W. Ezold. Mary Ann was born in New Haven on July 2, 1942, a daughter of Phillip and Catherine (Palmieri) Santore. She was the loving mother of Robert Ezold of Knoxville, TN, Kari (Brian) Anderson of Southbury, and Traci (Kevin) Brinkman of Clinton and dedicated grandmother of Sydney, Jason, Mark, Kayla, and Kyrsten. Mary Ann was also survived by her sister Esther (Richard) Ezold and brother Philip Santore, both of Branford along with several nieces and nephews.
She spent her early life in New Haven, and later moved to Branford in 1973 when she married her soul mate. She worked in the family business for years at the Forbes Diner alongside her sister, Esther. Later in life she worked at Harstans Jewelry in Guilford where she enjoyed interacting with customers and fellow coworkers. Mary Ann cherished spending time with all of her family and friends, but treasured those moments with her children, grandchildren and sister. Her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren as she was a devoted grandmother. Whether it be attending ballet performances, going to school functions, or just playing board games and chatting around the kitchen table, she was always engaged. Mary Ann, an avid knitter, loved to make beautiful keepsake blankets as gifts. She was a wonderful cook, she especially loved cooking Italian meals for her family and keeping the traditions of making these special Italian dishes. Mary Ann's positive and cheerful demeanor was infectious. She was kind and loving and touched many throughout her life and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Funeral services and burial will be private. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford is in care of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067, in honor of her beloved husband who battled cancer during the last several years of his life.
