Mary Carmena Anyzeski, of Branford, died peacefully in her sleep, Thursday September 13, 2012 in CT Hospice. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Anyzeski.
Mrs. Anyzeski was born March 11, 1925 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Onofrio Altieri. She was the Vice-president and manager of the Homemakers Thrift Shop in Branford for many years. Mrs. Anyzeski was a communicant of St. Mary Church, Branford and was a past member of the American Legion Post 83 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Dianne J. (Alexander) Sagnella of Branford, Linda (M. (Lenny) Selander of Stratford, and John E. Anyzeski, and his fiancé, Becky Schaeffer, of Hampton, CT; her grandchildren, Danielle Sagnella, Nicole (Russell) Brinn, Alexis Sagnella, Lynda (Scott) Swerling, Erica (Scott) Marcinczyk, Jessica (Nils) Nankin, Megan (Nathan) Champion and Emily Anyzeski; her great-grandchildren, Cole Brinn, Michael, Brian, Jason and Ally Swerling, Jaina, Avry and Cassidy Marcinczyk; and her soon to be step-grandchildren, William and Michael Schaeffer. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, Monday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 – 7 PM.
