Mary Ludoviconi Mortali, beloved wife of the late John Mortali, of Branford, formerly of West Haven, died Tuesday at Branford Hills Health Care Center.
She is survived by her children, John (Laurie) Mortali of Aiken, SC, and Janet (Ken) Kaminsky of Branford; her grandchildren, Kenny (Sonia) Kaminsky of Madison, Joel and Keith Kaminsky of Branford, Lisa (Mike) Herold, Diane Brewer and Karen (Allen) Pitts, all of GA; and her great-grandchildren, Julia and Trey Kaminsky of Madison, and Myles and Melissa Herold and Jon, Chase and Gabby Brewer, all in GA.
Mrs. Mortali was born January 19, 1916 in New Haven, daughter of the late Luigi and Ida Battistini Ludoviconi. She worked as a seamstress at Reese's Tie Factory in New Haven before starting her family. After raising her family, she went back to work at Vine Products in West Haven, retiring when she was 88 years old. She was a resident at Branford Hills for many years and will be greatly missed by the "Circle of Friends" from Ledgewood 2, BHHCC.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Levy and the nurses, aides and staff at Ledgewood 2, BHHCC, for their care and concern shown to Mary these past several years. They also give a special thank you to Pat Durante, a longtime family friend, who spent much time with Mary.
Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, Friday morning at 10:00 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:30. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5 – 7 PM at the funeral home.
