Otilia T. Ardolino "Teal", Branford resident for 65 years, died peacefully at home on October 8, 2014. Teal was born on January 12, 1925 in New Haven to Jan and Josefa Kwoka Tokarczyk. She was predeceased by her brother, Henry Tokarczyk. Teal graduated from St. Stanislaus Elementary School and East Haven High School. She was a dance instructor at Arthur Murray where she met her late husband, Michael J. Ardolino. They were in the restaurant business for 27 years; their best known venture was the Phoenix.
Teal loved the theatre and took acting classes in New York City. She was active in several community theatre groups, including the Post Road Players, and was a founding member of the Nutmeg Players.
Teal also loved to travel, read and attend the opera. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford and a member of the Eastern Star.
Teals leaves two daughters, Dani Ardolino of Branford and Jan Nelmes of Guilford; her dear sister-in-law, Virginia Tokarczyk of East Haven; a nephew, Robert Tokarczyk of Georgia; and a niece, Janice Langan of East Haven.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street, Branford at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, East Main Street, Branford.
