In New Haven September 20, 2010, Patricia Lawler Anderson, beloved wife of Rod E. Anderson of Barefoot Bay, FL and Lanphiers Cove, Branford.
Patty was born in New Haven on the feast of St. Patrick, March 17, 1940, a daughter of the late Joe and Mary Noonan Lawler. She graduated from St. Francis grammar school and Sacred Heart Academy and attended SCSU. Patty worked at Olin Matheson and later as an instructor at the Barbizon School of Modeling. She also modeled for the Edward Malley Co. and Kramer's Furriers. Before her retirement she worked in the Clinton office for Storer Cable.
Originally from Clinton, Pat and Rod moved to Barefoot Bay, FL where she spent her retirement years playing golf, tennis and bridge. She enjoyed entertaining at her home located on the golf course and was always planning dinner and cocktail parties for family and friends. Her sister Ann also lived in this community and her brother Larry spent the winters there. They spent many happy years there together.
Pat and Rod returned in the summer to their cottage in Lanphiers Cove and spent the season with their children and grandchildren. Pat was also very active in the Cove's association and planned many of the social activities for the residents. She made friends easily and had a great zest for life. Pat was never afraid to try something new and always gave 100 percent effort in everything that she accomplished.
Besides her husband Rod, she leaves her son Stephen (Carol) Anderson and grandsons, Eric and Scott of Madison, her daughter Lauren Patricia Anderson and her partner Susan Gagnon and grandsons Zachary and Chase of Warwick, RI; her two brothers, Thomas (Angela) Lawler of Torrington, Lawrence (Pat) Lawler of Wallingford; her two sisters Ann and Tom Giordano of Barefoot Bay, and Kathleen (Mark) Bourke of New Haven. She will be greatly missed by all her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford Friday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Church at 10:00. Friends may call Thursday evening from 4 – 7 PM.
