Rose A. Donofrio of Branford died on Saturday May 5 at the Hamden Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Ernest A. Donofrio. She was the mother of Roberta D. Pichini of Philadelphia, PA, Linda L. D’Onofrio of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Donna R. Anastasio (Husband Salvatore) of East Haven. She was the grandmother of Melissa Anastasio and Christine Pichini. She is also survived by her brother Mario DeAngelo of Florida and her sister Teresa (Leo) Marino of Branford. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Anthony, John, Nicholas, and Louis DeAngelo and her sister Julia Paolillo. Rose was born in New Haven on December 3, 1922, a daughter of John and Anne Esposito DeAngelo. She was a long time Branford resident and a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford. Rose was an energetic, outgoing woman known for her warmth, sense of humor, and interest in and desire to discuss all current topics. She made instant connections and left a memorable impression on all those who knew her, and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford. Friends may call prior to the service from 10:00-11:00. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.
