William Gillen Conway, 88, of Branford, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 30, 2017 at Whitney Manor in Hamden. He was the beloved husband of Lillian Baldino Conway, and was a resident of Branford for 59 years.
He was born in New Haven son of the late William H. and Mary Conway; he served as a Marine infantryman. He worked as a pressman for 26 years at Eastern Press until its closing. He began work as a security guard at WTNH News Channel 8, retiring at age 78 as a studio cameraman.
He was predeceased by his first wife Nancy Cargill Conway, with whom he had four children, Kevin Conway of Framingham, MA, and Dana (Scott) Knight of Andover, MA, and the late Bruce Conway and Gregg Conway and his wife Dale Jackson Conway. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Sarah Conway Karge, Patrick, Dylon, Kalee and Tyler Conway, all of Branford, Brianna and Casey Knight of Andover, Reyna Anman of New Haven; one great grandson Zach Karge, and his step-son Bruce (Maureen) Baldino of Bethany. He was also predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Conway.
