William H. "Billy" Ward Schwettmann of New Haven, died Tuesday May 9, 2017 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford.
Billy was born in Newburgh, NY November 6, 1956, son of the late William E. Ward and Lillian Schwettmann. He worked as a heavy duty mechanic for most of his life. Billy was a writer of fiction and was published in Word Press and Yellowjacket. He was an avid fisherman and was an animal lover, especially dogs including Max, who passed away last year, and Molly.
He is survived by his daughter, LeAnna (Chris) Abel of Grand Rapids, MI, his beloved sister, Rosemary (Anthony) Luzzi of New Haven, his sisters, Sophia (Ray) Eddy of Coxackie, NY and Melody Bruno of Newburgh, his brothers, Edward (Lori) Ward of Newburgh and Tim (Peggy) Harlan of Massillon, OH. He is also survived by three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Amy Arami and brothers, Luke H. Ward and Robert Ward.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday May 20, 2017 at 11:00 am, at the United Methodist Church, 811 East Main Street, Branford.
