William P. Wynne, of Branford, died Monday September 30, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice. He was the husband of Mary Royka Wynne.
Mr. Wynne was born in New Haven January 22, 1935, son of the late Barney and Lillian Wynne. He served in the U. S. Army in the Korean War. He was a mechanic, and later a foreman, for the New Haven Terminal for many years until retiring in 2004. Mr. Wynne was a member of the VFW Post 10186 in Branford, and American Legion Post 83 in Branford.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, William (Rosemarie) Wynne of Dekalb Junction, NY, Michele (Chris) MacKinnel and Tina (Butch) Burne of Branford; his grandchildren, Andrew, Brandon, and Anthony Wynne, Brian and Christopher MacKinnel, and Thomas and Katie Burne; and his great-grandchildren, Charles, Brian Cody, and Andrew, Jr., and his sisters, Patricia Call of Branford and Carol Longley of East Haven.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Barney, Eddie, Tommy and Jackie Wynne and his sisters, Barbara Foote and Janet Wynne.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 4 – 8 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and are invited to a funeral service Friday morning at 10:30 in the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Center Cemetery, Branford.
